The competition will take place from June 24 to 26. It was previously announced that Russian judokas will participate in this tournament as neutral athletes under the flag of the International Judo Federation (IJF).
– We arrived yesterday. We had a very long and difficult flight through Ulan-Ude. The team is very eager for wrestling and competition. Moreover, this is the first qualifying tournament before the Olympic Games. I can say that we were well received. And representatives of the Mongolian federation, and representatives of the IJF. Everything is in order, everything is like in ordinary competitions. We have a friendly family! There are no problems,” Denisov said.
– We have already had two training sessions since our arrival: last night and this morning. We trained at the local sports institute, the organizers helped us. Now our athletes are in quarantine, which is 12 hours. It started in the morning when we took the PCR tests. Under IJF rules, quarantine is necessary for those who were vaccinated more than six months ago, he added.
Previously, the IJF canceled all tournaments in Russia due to the situation in Ukraine. At the same time, the organization allowed Russian judokas to participate in international competitions in a neutral status.
