Kopylov: ‘It seems to me that Petr Yan will not stop and return to the title’

Russian mixed martial artist Roman Kopylov, speaking in the middleweight division of the UFC, spoke about the prospects of his compatriot Peter Yan.

Yang has lost his last four out of five fights in the UFC. The 30-year-old Russian held his last fight at UFC Fight Night 221 in mid-March, losing in five rounds to Georgia’s Merab Dvalishvili. In July, Yang revealed he could fight again in late 2023.

– It is difficult to judge what happened to him, and it is not for me to do so. Peter, probably, knows best what he had, what problems he was worried about. We don’t know what injury he came out with, how he prepared. Maybe he should have retired from the last fight. I think he will draw conclusions, change the location of the training camp or bring someone to train. It seems to me that he will not stop and return to the title, – quotes the words of Kopylov “Championship”.

Kopylov, 31, has been with the UFC since 2019. The Russian’s current contract with the organization is designed for three more fights.
