Helenius: Joshua gets nervous and afraid when he misses punches

The Finnish boxer was previously Anthony’s sparring partner

Finnish heavyweight Robert Helenius (32-4, 19 KOs) believes he can benefit from being underestimated by ex-world champion Anthony Joshua (25-3, 22 KOs). Robert has previously sparred with the Briton and is well acquainted with his style.

“I think there is more pressure on him. He probably thinks he can put me down or something. But I have been boxing for 26 years. I was Joshua’s sparring partner. I think we have almost 80 rounds of sparring together. I think he will be surprised by my punching power.”

“That was many years ago, but our sparring sessions are still sort of a marker of where we are. “And then, I think, it was about 50 to 50, equal sparring. Of course, I sparred with all these big guys in the camps of Klitschko, Fury and Wilder. I’ve sparred all over the world so I have experience.”

“Joshua is a tough fighter. He has always been tough, but I think this is the perfect time for me to catch him. I think his weak point is that he gets very nervous and afraid when he misses punches.”

Previously, Joshua and Helenius were weighed in. The weight of the British was 113.4 kg, the Finnish boxer showed almost the same result – 113.13 kg.

Recall that the fight between Anthony Joshua and Robert Helenius will be the flagship fight of the evening of August 12. The event will take place in London at the O2 Arena. The fight will be broadcast via PPV system by DAZN.
