The Ukrainian Judo Federation announced its refusal to participate in tournaments due to the admission of Russians

The Ukrainian Judo Federation through social networks announced its decision to refuse to participate in international tournaments due to the decision of the International Judo Federation (IJF) to allow Russians and Belarusians to compete in Mongolia under a neutral flag.

— While proclaiming slogans about friendship, solidarity, peace, sport outside of politics, the values of judo, at the same time, the International Judo Federation takes a purely political decision, allowing athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in the Olympic qualification. The International Judo Federation has become the first of the international sports federations to grossly ignore the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee. We are deeply disappointed with the decision of the IJF and have decided to refuse to participate in all sports events organized by the International Judo Federation until the judo federations of Russia and Belarus are eliminated from participation in competitions of the IJF under any status, the Ukrainian Judo Federation said in a statement.

The judo tournament in Mongolia is scheduled for June 24-26. Russian athletes will participate in the international tournament in Ulaanbaatar as neutral athletes under the flag of the International Judo Federation (IJF).
