AMC Fight Nights Welterweight Champion Dmitry Bikrev in a conversation with compared the victory Shauna O’Malley above Aljamain Sterling with the success of Conor McGregor in a duel with Jose Aldo.
O’Malley knocked out Sterling in the second round of UFC 292 in Boston (USA) on Saturday and became the promotion’s new bantamweight champion. McGregor knocked out Aldo in 13 seconds in December 2015 and won the UFC featherweight belt.
Everyone loves MMA because there is an element of surprise in every fight. This victory for O’Malley reminded me of Conor McGregor’s triumph in a duel with Jose Aldo. It was very cool. O’Malley worked perfectly for a drummer. How he moved on his feet… Like in a textbook. Sterling didn’t know how to act at all. Sterling was starting to get lost. O’Malley was well motivated, had a good camp. I give O’Malley a standing ovation for how he came. I don’t see the point of a rematch, Sterling seems to be changing categories. But I would happily watch O’Malley’s fight against Merab Dvalishvili. And Merab has no one else to fight with, Bikrev told .
