MMA fighter Alexander Shlemenko has confirmed he is negotiating a fight in Moscow at a tournament in September

Former Bellator Champion Alexander Shlemenko told he was negotiating a fight in Moscow and one of his potential opponents could be Kuat Khamitov.

The 35-year-old fighter from Kazakhstan Khamitov (24-8 in MMA) posted an entry on his social media saying he would be fighting against Shlemenko (39, 62-15-1-1 in MMA). Alexander himself last played in Omsk on July 21 in the SFC tournament, beating Brazilian Alex Oliveira in the first round.

— I did not sign the contract, but negotiations are ongoing. It’s hard to say if Kuat Khamitov will be an opponent, but maybe he will be. And so the fight is being negotiated,” Shlemenko told .

Earlier, head of mixed martial arts promotion TopFight announced that he would be fighting Jeff Monson with Oleg Taktarov, but the event did not take place on the scheduled date and was postponed indefinitely. Taktarov and Monson met on August 19 in a boxing match. The fight went the full distance and ended in a draw.
