The Ukrainian boxer said he fought Briton Derek Chisora
Oleksandr Usyk boxed with Derek Chisora This is what the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion himself said.
According to the Ukrainian, he did this to get another Briton, Anthony Joshua, to agree to fight him.
“Let people watch the fight with Derek Chisora and think what they think. There is an opinion that then I encouraged Anthony Joshua to fight me. Yes, that is true,” Usyk said in a Queensberry Promotions interview by Frank Warren.
Remember that in October 2020, Usyk defeated Chisora through a unanimous decision. After this fight, the Ukrainian had the opportunity to fight Joshua as a mandatory contender for the WBO title.
Earlier, Oleksandr Usyk called his hardest fight of his life.
