Russian sambists won eight medals on the first day of the World Sambo Cup, which takes place in Cholpon-Ata (Kyrgyzstan).
In men, gold was won by Harun Tlishev (up to 58 kg), Ali Dagoev (up to 71 kg), Stanislav Skryabin (up to 79 kg), Shamil Gadzhiev (up to 88 kg) , Denis Bakanov (up to 98 kg ).
Money on behalf of Stepan Soldatenkov (over 98 kg).
In women’s combat sambo, gold was won by Yana Polyakova (up to 72 kg), silver was won by Vera Lotkova (up to 59 kg).
The tournament is held under the auspices of the International Sambo Federation (FIAS) and will last until August 23.
