Russian Thai Boxing Champion Gadjimurad Amirjanov will fight in ONE under MMA rules in Bangkok.
On August 25, at the ONE Friday Fight 30 tournament, Gadzhimurad Amirzhanov will perform for the first time in one of the strongest leagues in the world – ONE Championship. The fight will take place in the ONE welterweight division (83.9 kg). Gadzhimurad’s rival is Iranian Mehraban Farhadi, 31, who has four wins and no losses. His basis is wrestling, while Amirzhanov’s forte is kickboxing.
Amirzhanov, 27, is a titled kickboxing and Muay Thai fighter. He is the European and Russian champion in Thai boxing, the Russian champion in K-1. Gadzhimurad comes from a sports family: his father is an honored coach of Russia, coach of the Thai boxing team of Dagestan. During his professional career, Amirzhanov won all three professional MMA fights in AMC, he lost one of two amateur fights. Amirzhanov’s last fight was in February 2022 against Alexander Chernov at the AMC Fight Nights 109 tournament, where Gadzhimurad won via third-round submission. Farhadi last fought in July last year against Daniel Derrer at Fairtex Fight Promotion. Mehraban won by unanimous decision.
The weekly Friday tournaments at Lumpini Stadium, promoted by ONE, are one way to secure a long-term contract with ONE. Amirzhanov does not hide his goal of gaining a foothold in ONE. He will represent Anatoly Malykhin’s Dobrynya Hall, opened this year in Phuket.
The broadcast of the ONE Friday Fights 30 tournament will begin on August 25 at 3:30 p.m. Moscow time.
