At the front are people from different fields
Ukrainian boxer, WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO title holder Oleksandr Usyk said that he was ready to fight every day for the sake of the Ukrainian military.
“I see how some people change in themselves. Even the people I know are changing in a different way – not for the better.”
“I have spent a lot of time with these people and they are not professional soldiers ready for war. They are ordinary people. One of them was a banker; another had a bakery; the third had other things to do, but they went to serve. Of course, there are soldiers who served in the army, but many guys are not soldiers and came here to achieve freedom for the country.”
“[Вроцлав] has a large Ukrainian community, boxing history, Vitali Klitschko fought in Wroclaw. If I could give them even a little pleasure, I would fight every day. I understand because they are there [на передовой], they don’t watch anything, they fight for freedom. But we will get freedom later.”
The Oleksandr Usyk Foundation held a charity evening with a charity auction in the USA. The main lot of the auction was a sculpture of a boxing glove, which was created by the famous Lithuanian sculptor Sigitas Sniras.
Usyk also became an ambassador for the UNITED24 program. One of the tasks of the Ukrainian boxer will be the direction “Restoration of Ukraine”.
On August 26, in Wroclaw, Poland, at the Tarczynski Arena, Oleksandr Usyk will fight Briton Daniel Dubois. The championship fight will be shown by the MEGOGO media service.
On the undercard of the Usyk-Dubois fight, WBO International lightweight champion Denis Berinchyk, Dmitry Mitrofanov, Yaroslav Khartsyz, Vasily Chebotar, Fedor Cherkashin, Daniel Lapin and others will enter the ring.
The referee in the ring is the representative of Puerto Rico Luis Pabon. Stanley Christodolu (South Africa), as well as representatives of Poland – Pawel Cardini and Leszek Jankowiak, will take care of the judging.
