The IBF heavyweight mandatory challenger wants to fight the Ukrainian world champion.
Filip Hrgovic intends to meet in the ring with the holder of the WBA, WBO and IBF titles Alexander Usik and does not plan to give up his rights.
The mandatory IBF heavyweight contender hopes that the International Boxing Federation will support his intentions and pressure the Ukrainian to make this fight happen.
“I need this chance. I worked so long to become a mandatory applicant and then defended my status. Usyk must fulfill his obligations and meet with me. I will be next in line.
A few weeks ago we received a letter from the IBF that the winner of my fight with McKean and Usyk-Dubois should fight for the IBF title. I hope. The IBF should support Usyk, then he will box with me, otherwise he will have to vacate the title,” said Hrgovic as quoted by Sky Sports.
It can be recalled that Usyk and Dubois previously held an open training session before the match on August 26.
