Boxers Gadzhimagomedov and La Cruz were weighed before the fight in Serpukhov

Double world champion, Olympic silver medalist in Russian boxing Muslim Gajimagomedov and Cuban Julius Caesar La Cruz successfully passed the weighing procedure on the eve of the face-to-face in Serpukhov, near Moscow.

Gadzhimagomedov’s weight was 91.75 kg, La Cruz’s was 91.65 kg. The fight will take place on Saturday as part of the IBA Night of Champions tournament and will be the main event of the evening.

Gadzhimagomedov has met La Cruz twice at the amateur level – in the final of the Tokyo Olympics and in the semi-finals of the international tournament in Morocco in February 2023. Both times the Russian boxer was defeated.

Also as part of the show, world champion Mark Petrovsky will meet World Championship silver medalist and Games participant, Ecuadorian Julio Castillo. Petrovsky’s weight is 101.45 kg, Castillo’s is 97.1 kg.

European Games silver medalist Khariton Agrba (66.95kg) will fight Xolisani Ndongeni (67kg) of South Africa. World Championship bronze medalist Vsevolod Shumkov (61kg) will face Cuban Lazaro Alvarez (60.9kg), a three-time Olympic medalist.
