Dmitry failed to win the WBC Silver middleweight belt
Three Ukrainian boxers Daniel Lapin, Fedor Cherkashin And Dmitry Mitrofanov had fights on the undercard of the fight Oleksandr Usyk – Daniel Dubois in Wroclaw.
Lapin (8-0, 2 KOs) defeated German Aro Schwartz (20-7-1, 13 KOs) to win the IBO Continental light heavyweight title. In the sixth round, the corner of the German boxer threw in the white towel.
Cherkashin (22-1, 14 KOs) suffered his first defeat in his career. The Ukrainian middleweight boxer, by decision of the majority of judges, lost to the Frenchman Anahuel Ngamissenga (13-0, 8 KOs) – 74:76, 75:75, 72:78. Note that Fedor was knocked down twice in the third round, and in the fourth the referee took a point from him.
Mitrofanov (13-1-1, 6 KOs) could not oppose anything to Hamza Shiraz (18-0, 14 KOs). The referee stopped the fight in the second round after the Briton sent Dmitry to another knockdown. At stake was the WBC Silver middleweight belt, owned by Shiraz.
Mitrofanov previously competed in the junior middleweight division. In April, the Ukrainian defended the WBO Oriental title in this category against Juan Carlos Rodriguez from Venezuela.
On the Usyk-Dubois undercard, the fight will also be fought by WBO International lightweight champion Denis Berinchyk. His opponent is Swede Anthony Yigit.
The main event of the boxing evening in Wroclaw will be the fight between WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and WBA Regular title holder Daniel Dubois. The referee in the ring will be Puerto Rican Luis Pabon. The championship fight will be shown by the MEGOGO media service.
