Athletistic/Boxing. Former world light heavyweight champion (up to 90.7 kg) Grigory Drozd has spoken about his views on the controversial incident that occurred in the fifth round of the title fight between the WBA heavyweight champions, IBF and WBO Alexander Usik and British challenger Daniel Dubois.

As you know, Usyk complained about a blow from Dubois below the waist, in response to which the fight was suspended for five minutes. Usyk was then able to finish the fight with a ninth-round TKO. This fight was the first for the Ukrainian boxer after August 2022.

“In my opinion, such blows should not become a reason to stop the fight. This blow was right. There was nothing unusual. The blow did not hit the groin. The judge did not maybe not noticed this episode at all, but Alexander just fell”, Drozd in a conversation with a journalist from “Championship”.
