The World Boxing Association confirmed the referee’s position in the ring regarding the annoying blow by the British.

The WBA released an official statement regarding the results of the title fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois. Separately, the World Boxing Association settled on the annoying punch of the British.

The organization confirmed the victory of the Ukrainian and the defense of the championship titles. They also confirmed the judge’s decision on the recorded low blow.

Oleksandr Usyk remains the World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight champion after defeating Daniel Dubois by TKO in nine rounds this Saturday at the stadium in Wroclaw, Poland.

Usyk retained his gold belt for the second time, as well as the WBO and IBF titles after a superb performance in which he worked with intelligence and precision to secure the victory.

Usyk showed good boxing, relying on the jab and footwork to dominate Dubois, who did not make it easy for him tonight and went toe-to-toe with the champion, but ultimately failed to reach his goal.

There was a dramatic moment in the fight when Dubois unleashed a low blow that dropped Usyk to the canvas. The spot it hit caused controversy about the legality of the punch, but the referee accepted that the punch landed below the belt and gave Usyk the necessary recovery time to continue the fight.

After receiving an illegal blow, the Ukrainian changed his attitude and started to act a little more aggressively to get two knockdowns in the fight and win in the ninth round.

The victory was the 21st of Usyk’s professional career, with 14 knockouts. Meanwhile, Dubois now has 19 wins, 2 losses and 18 knockouts in his account.

We remind you, Oleksandr Usyk knocked out Daniel Dubois in a match in Wroclaw, Poland.
