The fight will take place on September 4
Former World Heavyweight Champion Andy Ruiz (34-2, 22 KOs) shared his expectations from the fight with Luis Ortiz (33-2, 28 KOs). He wants to come into the fight in his best shape and show that he is ready to win the championship title.
“This is my chance to prove to everyone that I’m going to be world heavyweight champion again. I am very motivated to fight such a great fighter like Luis Ortiz,” said Ruiz.
“So my fans will see me at my best. Everyone wanted to see this fight and we’re going to have a war on fight night.”
The fight between Ruiz and Ortiz will take place on September 4 in Los Angeles. For Andy, this fight will be the first in 15 months. Last May, he defeated Chris Arreola via unanimous decision.
In December 2019, Ruiz lost to Anthony Joshua and lost his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight titles, which he won in his first fight with the Briton.
Ortiz last fought in January 2022, defeating Charles Martin by TKO in the sixth round. Louis is a former WBC heavyweight title challenger. In the championship fights, the Cuban lost twice to Deontay Wilder.
