Manager says cat bite not reason for postponement of Ivan Emelianenko fight

Fighter Ivan Emelianenko the cat really bit hard, but that’s no reason to postpone his fight from September to October, the athlete’s manager Nikita Burchak told .

The younger of the Emelianenko brothers made his MMA debut in May, beating Alexei Ledenev by unanimous decision. Earlier, promoter Vladimir Khryunov told that the fight between Ivan Emelianenko and Yuri Ryaboi was postponed because “a cat jumped in his hand”.

– The story with the cat has its place. There was a very strong bite, after which it was necessary to go to a medical institution. But this incident was not the reason for the postponement of the fight. We just objectively assess the capabilities of Ivan and the strength of the opponent. Ryaboy scored a good shot. The fight must be competitive. And we decided that Ivan needed more time to prepare, so we postponed the meeting. In early September, Ivan will travel to Kislovodsk for a training camp, and the duel between Ryaby and Ivan Emelianenko is scheduled for October 27, Burchak told correspondent.
