The legendary Ukrainian boxer defends his native country from the attack of Russian invaders
Former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world Lennox Lewis expressed admiration Vitali Klitschkowhich now protects Ukraine from the attack of Russian invaders.
Klitschko, the former heavyweight world champion and current mayor of Kyiv, has remained in Ukraine since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, which continues for the 119th day.
Vitali Klitschko will be awarded the Arthur Ashe Courage Award in July. This award is given to a member of the sports community whose actions transcend sports and impact the world.
“Usually on June 21st I publish a post dedicated to the anniversary of my fight with Vitali Klitschko, but today I just want to salute him,” Lewis wrote on his Instagram.
“Now he is fighting the biggest fight of his life, and the sacrifices he made to serve the Ukrainian people are worthy of not just praise, but admiration.”
“It takes a lot of courage to step into the boxing ring. As fighters, we know every fight could be our last, but having the courage to stand up for your country and countrymen like he does requires a whole different level of courage and love.”

On June 21, 2003, Vitali Klitschko and Lewis had a heavyweight championship fight. The British boxer won by technical knockout in the sixth round.
