Valentina Shevchenko’s sparring partner Ilimbek Akilbek Uulu of Kyrgyzstan won her first fight in ONE.
At the ONE Friday Fights 14 tournament in Bangkok, Ilimbek Akilbek Uulu defeated Gadzhimurad Gasanguseinov (13-2) by unanimous decision. The fight was held under MMA rules with a weight of 139 pounds. Uulu’s new professional record is 8 wins and one loss.
Ilimbek Akilbek Uulu was introduced to ONE in January this year when the league was just starting to promote the Friday Fights format, and eight months later he was able to win that fight.
From the age of 11, the fighter trained in Muay Thai under the guidance of Elena Arkadievna Shevchenko, the mother of Valentina Shevchenko. Elena Arkadievna is Kyrgyzstan’s honored trainer in Thai boxing, the president of the Kyrgyzstan Thai Boxing Federation and the owner of a black belt in taekwondo. She is currently the manager of Uulu.

For the past two months, the athlete has been training at the Tiger Muay Thai and MMA camp in Phuket, where Valentina Shevchenko is a frequent guest.
