MMA fighter Shovkhal Churchaev took part in the fight and was arrested by police on August 31 on the eve of the tournament in Moscow, where Churchaev was supposed to fight with Omsk fighter Artem Rofal. Churchaev attacked an MMA fighter from Azerbaijan who, taking a microphone during a press conference, challenged a Chechen athlete.
