Last month, the Ukrainian defended his championship belts in a duel against Dubois
WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO World Champion Oleksandr Usyk recognized best boxer August according to World Boxing Association (WBA).
At the end of August, Usyk knocked out British boxer Daniel Dubois in the ninth round and defended his championship belts. The fight took place in Wroclaw at the Tarczynski Arena.
For Usyk, the victory over Dubois was the 21st in the professional ring, 14 times the Ukrainian finished the fight ahead of schedule. The Briton suffered the second defeat in his career.
Usyk challenged WBC champion Tyson Fury for his next fight. Representatives of Alexander and the “Gypsy King” are negotiating a unification fight in early 2024.
Filip Hrgovic also claims to fight with Usyk. The Croatian is the mandatory contender for the IBF title.
