In the UFC, Gamrot excelled against Tsarukyan in the main event; Brazilian Thiago Moisés also won the victory with a brilliant performance
In the early hours of Saturday to Sunday, 26, Mateusz Gamrot it hit Arman Tsarukyan in the lightweight division UFC, for the main confrontation, in Las Vegas, in the United States. The fight represented the maintenance of an undefeated streak and the breaking of another: the Pole won his fourth consecutive victory, while the Russian-Armenian was defeated after five consecutive triumphs.
The confrontation was marked by five rounds, in a balanced way, with alternations of superiority. Tsarukyan held the advantage over Gamrot in the opening two rounds, prioritizing pressure. However, the 31-year-old got the better of his opponent’s takedown in the last few seconds; the rivals sustained 20 minutes of intense and balanced dispute, with quick recoveries and kicking “works”.
CHANNEL – ATHLETISTIC:
“That was a really tough fight. Tsarukyan is a really tough guy. We’re from the new generation. I hope we train in the future. I’m ready to screw every single one of these lightweight guys”highlighted Gamrot, in an interview in the octagon. “In the future, I will be champion for sure. I want to fight Gaethje. Gaethje is the most brutal guy in the division. I want to fight him next.”
The Armenian, in turn, lamented the setback: “I don’t know what happened. This camp was really good, but I don’t know. I had to do a better fight than this one. I know myself, I’m upset. It was my first time fighting five rounds, probably that’s why it was so hard. I thought I won this fight. I thought I won three rounds. I’ll correct my mistakes and come back better. I’m young. I can’t lose, because I know I’m better.”
