Russian taekwondo fighters did not participate in the awards on the second day of the Paris Grand Prix

Russians Lilia Khuzina, Victoria Zheleznova and Magomedrasul Omarov failed to win any medals at the Taekwondo Grand Prix series stage in Paris.

The second day of competition took place on Saturday. 2023 World Champion Khuzina, who competes in the weight class up to 67kg, lost to Chinese representative Mengyu Zhang in the quarterfinals.

All-Russian Spartakiad bronze medalist in taekwondo Victoria Zheleznova (up to 67 kg) could not make it past the first round, losing to Belgium’s Sara Chaari.

Three-time Russian champion Magomedrasul Omarov (up to 80 kg) lost in the opening match to his Jordanian rival Saleh Elsharabati.

Russian athletes perform in Paris in neutral status under the flag of the international federation World Taekwondo. The qualifying points tournament for the 2024 Games will end on September 3.
