Azim: Faniyan is a good opponent, few people at my age risk fighting such a fight

The Briton defeated the Ukrainian boxer by the decision of the judges

British boxer Adam Azim (9-0, 6 KOs) pleased with the victory over the Ukrainian Aram Fanian (23-2, 5 KOs) in a fight that took place in Manchester on the night of September 3.

“Faknian was a good opponent. I’m only 21 and I entered the ring with a man who had 25 fights. At this age, no one will do it. I just proved that I can go 10 rounds, I can hurt him, I can stay inside and learn from my mistakes. I think it was a win-win.”

The fight took place in the junior welterweight category. Azim had the advantage for most of the fight, while the Ukrainian tried to counterattack. After ten rounds, all the judges gave the victory to the British – 100-90, 99-91 and 98-92.

Fanyan’s duel with Azim took place in Manchester on the undercard of the fight between Chris Eubank Jr. and Liam Smith. In the main event of the boxing evening, Chris took revenge on Liam, winning by technical knockout in the tenth round.
