Carl Froch remembers how the Ukrainian boxer coped with the British in the World Series of Boxing.
A rematch between British Joe Joyce and Chinese Zhang Zhillei will take place soon. The match is scheduled for September 23, and before this, many experts traditionally make their predictions.
Former super middleweight champion Carl Froch also spoke. He remembered that the Chinese boxer was not the first to beat Joyce. More painful was the beating in 2013 of Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, who defeated the Briton in a duel under the auspices of the World Series of Boxing.
“Joyce destroys everyone in the ring because he doesn’t slow down. He just moves forward. He doesn’t look like he’s doing anything special, he doesn’t even hit hard. He’s not fast. He’s not dynamic. No. head movement, it’s a basic criteria that sometimes need to be followed.
The only man to stop him other than Zhang faced him at the World Series of Boxing. It’s Oleksandr Usyk in a five-three minute round format. It is a cross between amateur and professional fighting. Some people do not know about it, but it is a kind of a stepping stone between beginners and professionals. I watched their fight, and Usyk really outboxed Joyce, tore him apart in that fight,” Boxing247 quoted Froch as saying.
We will remind, earlier Zhilei criticized Dubois for fighting with Usyk.
