Russian heavyweight Alexander Volkov moved from eighth to seventh place in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) rankings, the new version of which is published on the organization’s website.
The Russian removed Moldovan fighter Sergei Spivak from the seventh row, who was beaten by Frenchman Cyril Gan on Sunday evening at the UFC tournament in Paris. Gan now shares the lead with Russia’s Sergei Pavlovich, while American Jon Jones is the division champion.
Volkov spent 46 fights in mixed martial arts and won 36 (24 by knockout). On September 9, he will face Australian Tai Tuivasa at UFC 293 in Sydney.
