Russian mixed martial artist Alexander Volkov explained why he doesn’t challenge other UFC fighters.
Volkov has 36 wins and 10 losses in his MMA career. The Russian sits seventh in the UFC heavyweight rankings.
– In fact, I’m lost in the face of challenges, because, first of all, I don’t want to upset anyone. As I’ve said many times, all guys are strong – now they get mad, then they beat me hard. I’ll ask for someone, and then I’ll get stars. I don’t need it, thanks.
But joking aside, it’s the matchmaker’s job to make fights and matchups interesting. I’m probably more modest in that regard. Not that I think I can lose. It’s just that I’m more modest with myself and wouldn’t like to indulge in hate, Volkov quotes Sport24.
Volkov will face Australian Tai Tuivasa on Sept. 9 at UFC 293 in Sydney. Watch the live broadcast on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. Moscow time on the “” channel, “Match! Fighter” will broadcast the tournament starting at 1:30 a.m.
