Boxer of the “Kama” team Alisa Sharifov shared his impressions after the match with the representative of Sibir, Sharafkhan Kerimov, in the framework of the Victory Cup tournament, and also talked about training in his native village.
Sharifov, who competes in weight up to 65kg, beat Kerimov by unanimous decision on Sunday in the second stage of the tournament.
– I met today’s opponent for the first time. A good and stubborn opponent, did not give up until the last second. I want to thank him for such a fight. He turned out to win due to the pressure, the onslaught. That was the plan of the fight: not letting him breathe, constantly putting pressure on him.
At the first meeting in St. Petersburg, I did not compete, I deliberately prepared for the fight in Moscow. He trained in his village of Priobye in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. The population of the village is only six thousand, but at the same time we already have two world-class masters of sports in boxing. We love boxing very much,” Sharifov told reporters.
” Victory Cup” takes place in four cities: St. Petersburg (June 16-18 and July 8-10), Moscow (June 24-26), Kazan (July 1-3) and Orenburg (July 15-17) . On July 30, the tournament final will be held in Moscow.
Six teams take part in the tournament: Leningrad (St. Petersburg), Siberia (boxers from the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts), Tula (Central Federal District), Moscow (Moscow), Stalingrad (South Caucasian of the North) and “Kama” (federal districts of the Volga and the Urals). The prize fund is 20 million rubles.
