The British boxer believes that the referee made a big mistake in the title fight.
Daniel Dubois was denied a legitimate victory and world titles in a fight with Alexander Usik. This is stated in the official appeal of the British boxer’s team to the leadership of the WBA.
The main culprit is called the judge in the ring. The text specifically states that due to errors in the decision of the referee of the fight, Luis Pabon, Usyk was not counted as a knockout from Dubois, who was stripped of the last title of the unified world heavyweight champion.
“About 20 seconds into the fifth round, Dubois landed a body shot that sent Usyk to the canvas and arguably made Daniel the heavyweight champion.
However, Pabon misjudged the low kick. Instead of a knockout, Usyk had a long recovery time, which allowed him to regain strength and continue the fight unhindered,” the letter said.
Warren’s nonsense begins in paragraph 2 of the appeal where the absurd assumption is made that Usyk would not have gotten up if the ref had ruled it a legal body shot from Dubois (which it wasn’t). pic.twitter.com/WseqgCSyXQ

Dubois lost to Usyk in the ninth round by technical knockout.
Earlier, promoter Dubois criticized his ward for refusing to continue the fight with the Ukrainian.
