“I set an example for Khabib.” A trainer from Dagestan saved people in a fatal accident

In the morning, several Telegram channels talked about an accident on Zubovsky Boulevard. The Mercedes, in which eight people were traveling, crashed into a corner of the house and caught fire. Arslanbek Aliyev, coach of the Dagestan youth freestyle wrestling team, was the first to open the front door of the burning car. We talk to him.

– I’m still sitting 150 meters from where it all happened. I can show you – this is the corner of the house where the car crashed. I was seated at the same table. He came to Moscow to meet friends, brought his son for examination. And I rented an apartment nearby for a few days. I met a friend, another, it was already three o’clock. I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, I don’t think, I went to a cafe nearby, I ordered a fresh juice, an apple-orange. For some reason I wanted to. The guys were sitting next door, as they later said, from Saudi Arabia, smoking a hookah. I was about to go home and suddenly I heard a pop from the explosion and flames. I immediately ran, the Arabs with me.

I see the car hit the wall with no sign of braking.

There were also traffic cops around the corner. I think these guys saw them, and since they were driving without license plates, they may have decided to drive fast. We run, the car is on fire and no one comes out. Employees say, “Hey! Stay away.” I’m not saying they’re wrong, the car really could have exploded. But we did not respond to this request, the Arabs lit up, another of my compatriots … As a result, he went straight into the living room, pulled out the most people. Kyrgyz, Uzbek, there were six of us working there, everyone was doing something. It is a civic duty. If we waited for the Ministry of Emergency Situations, an ambulance, in one minute, there would be eight burned bodies. But, however, the staff, who said not to approach, did not interfere with us, handed over a fire extinguisher.

– So you put out the fire with a fire extinguisher?

– It goes like this … But there is no help from the fire extinguisher. He immediately finished, no obstacles to the fire did not. A few pieces were given to us, they immediately sold out.

If we had tools, professional devices, support there, we would remove the seat [водительское] return. Try to get the driver. And so the chair glued to the front panel, you want to shoot, the flame burns in your face. Fire at six meters, up to the third floor. In the morning the painters arrived, they had already painted the house.

Apparently, the time has not yet come for these people. We were there at the right time.

Who did you date?

I ran to the front door, I pulled it, it opened. Everyone who was in the back, they were all thrown into the front seats. I immediately took the guy, he was conscious. The others also took one. We pulled out five, but my compatriot got straight into the cabin and pulled out the sixth, he was already under the seats. And there was already a flame inside, because the guys’ hair was burned inside.

They pulled everyone out – such shock, to be honest. Do you think that if we weren’t there, people would burn, it seems the very center of the city, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is 500 meters away, and who would help them? It turns out that no one will help you if … Caucasians or Arabs don’t get caught, ha ha.

– You opened the door – were you very frightened by what you saw?

– Honestly, when you see such a situation, you get lost. Not really a picture – to see people in such a state. The girls there are tough, in my opinion. One head is split open, the other has damaged internal organs. Everyone was unconscious, but they seemed to be moving, showing signs of life. The kid I took out had a broken leg, a bruised chest. Pale, breathing heavily. He asked his brother to pull out, who was driving. I said to him: “Dictate the number of one of the parents.” His relative came and I explained the situation to him.

Is the driver dead?

– They couldn’t get it. But there the flame was such that you could not crawl with your hands at all. Maybe I did even less than the others, but the guys just did their duty: the Arabs immediately left, my compatriot also left when the ambulance arrived.

By the time the ambulance and firefighters arrived, the car had already burned completely. She made a few pops there several times. The ambulance, I think, drove a little over 10 minutes. Firefighters earlier, but there the car was already completely burned.

– Do you understand what is burning so strongly in the front, if the gas tank seems to be in the back?

“For the first time, I see a car on fire, and I don’t know what was burning there. But the flames beat all the way to the sixth floor. Within a minute, the car was on fire.

– You are training people who are about to start getting rights. Can you tell me about this situation?

– I have to start collecting on Sunday. I go home tomorrow. I’m really 16-18 years old, and I talk a lot with them, explain how to behave, how to talk with the elders, so that they clean the rooms after themselves, take the dishes to the dining room, mat-remat – so that all this did not have. This is the basis, how we educate them, so that they go further. Not all of them will become champions, although I have guys who have now become the first numbers in the adult team, but I say that the human qualities will stay with you forever.

– Tell us about yourself as a wrestler?

– I fought in three weights: 84, 97 and 120 kg. Wrestled with Olympic champions. And with Shirvani Muradov, with Khadzhimurat Gatsalov, with Jacob Varner, with Khetag Gozyumov, with Georgy Ketoev. Almost all have won in full-time meetings. And they beat me. But our competition is very high.

– Are you in contact with any of the MMA fighters?

– I only train wrestlers, but MMA guys are our family. We know Islam Makhachev very well. I don’t know Khabib, but I personally knew his father, we went to Mecca together in 2018. I always cite Khabib, Islam as an example, it is even thought among friends that a person, if he had such finances , such notoriety, she would still be noticed in something. And there is nothing behind it. Show only a positive example. Of course, there are no ideal people, but here is an example of a person, a citizen with the right concepts, with the right education.
