WBA Russian light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol said the owner of the WBC, WBO, IBF championship belts Arthur Beterbiev will be the favorite in a duel with the Briton Callum Smith.
Beterbiev will defend his light heavyweight belts on January 13 in Quebec City, Canada against mandatory challenger WBC. Beterbiev, undefeated, has 19 wins (all by knockout). Smith has 29 wins and one loss. Initially, this fight was supposed to take place in August, but the meeting was postponed due to health problems of the Russian.
– In my opinion, the favorite is Beterbiev. But Smith is no giveaway either. He gained enormous experience in the battle with Canelo (in this fight in December 2020, Smith suffered his only defeat and lost his WBA super middleweight belt). This has certain advantages.
