In the fifth round, Dubois knocked Usyk down, but the judge ruled that the blow was illegal – in the area below the belt. Usyk had five minutes to recover from the hit.
“Maybe the judge gave Usyk too much time to recover. But I watched the fight on TV and it was a low blow.
It seemed to me that after this illegal blow, Dubois had lost his determination. For what? I’m not sure, I’m not sure,” Arum commented in an interview with IFL TV.
In the ninth round, Oleksandr Usyk knocked out Daniel Dubois and successfully defended his WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight titles.
