The revenge of the Ukrainian and the Englishman will take place on August 20
Coach Anthony Joshua Robert Garcia suggested that Oleksandr Usyk is not in the best physical shape two months before the rematch with his ward.
On August 20, Usyk and Joshua will fight for the second time, in which the Ukrainian will defend the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight titles.
“If you notice, we have two months left before the fight and Usyk still looks a little wobbly. I don’t know if Alexander did it on purpose to be stronger and harder in the rematch, or if he’s just not in shape,” Garcia said.
“Usyk spent several months in his country because of the war, so I don’t know. If he will work to get in shape, then he needs to work hard. But if he has gained mass to be stronger, then we will have to fight hard because Usyk is also very talented.”
Last fall, Usyk defeated Joshua by unanimous decision to become the world heavyweight champion for the first time in his career.
Usyk and Joshua’s rematch will take place in Saudi Arabia. The fight will be broadcast on the DAZN pay-per-view streaming platform.
