The Ministry of Sports reinstated the accreditation of the Russian MMA Union

The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation has renewed the accreditation of the Russian MMA Union, according to the organization’s official website.

The Sports Ministry suspended the Union’s accreditation in June for three months. This was due to the death of a 16-year-old athlete after a missed blow to the head during the Open Cup of Mixed Martial Arts in Belogorsk (Amur region). A criminal case was opened against the head of the MMA Federation of the Amur region.

“This situation brought to our attention some issues that we were confident we had fully resolved. There were few, but during these three months we eliminated the gaps. We are glad that the Russian Cup, which will be held on September 22-23 in Omsk, will allow our athletes to gain not only competition experience, but also sports titles!

Our work has not stopped, we have goals and we will definitely achieve them in the near future,” said Andrei Terentyev, acting president of the Russian MMA Union.

Live broadcasts of mixed martial arts tournaments can be seen on and Match! Fighter”, as well as on the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
