Warren on appealing the result of the Usyk-Dubois fight: I don’t think this process will last too long

Representatives of the British are confident that they are right

Frank WarrenBritish heavyweight promoter Daniel Duboisspoke about the appeal against the result of the fight of his ward against the world champion according to WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO Alexandra Usika. The manager noted that the appeal process should not take too long.

“I haven’t heard anything from the WBA. Typically, the appeal process takes some time. They should go through this process, but I don’t think it will take too long. We don’t really think about what will happen if the appeal is rejected,” Warren said.

“I am confident that it was not a low blow and that the referee did not properly instruct the fighters. Usyk wanted to continue the fight, he said that he was ready to fight, but the referee gave him another minute and a half. He made a mistake”.

Earlier, the WBA confirmed receipt of the Dubois team’s appeal against the outcome of the fight against Usyk, which ended in a technical knockout in the ninth round.

Let us remind you that in the fifth round of the Usik-Dubois fight, the Briton struck the Ukrainian in the groin area. Alexander fell to the canvas, the referee recorded a low blow, giving the Ukrainian time to recover. According to Dubois’ team, the shot was clean. Daniel himself believes that he was deprived of a legitimate victory and demands revenge.

Warren stated immediately after the fight that the British team “will seek the WBA to declare this fight invalid.” According to Usik’s promoter Alexander Krasyuk, this appeal has “zero percent chance.”
