The Briton said he is interested in rivals who will bring him more money
WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury stated that he is not interested in a fight with the holder of the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO titles in the heavyweight division Alexander Usik, preferring to take fights that will bring him more money.
“No, I’m not interested in a fight with Usyk. He’s a little Ukrainian lazy guy. All this talk about unifying the division and stuff like that doesn’t really mean anything to me. I’m looking for the biggest fee. Most of the time Usyk fails to cope with this task.”
“He’s just a foreigner who doesn’t speak English well, so he can’t be sold. I’m probably looking for another American. I probably want to fight Jon Jones in a boxing match.”
“I would fight Francis Ngannou under MMA rules. I’m sure I’ll kick his ass both in the cage and in the ring. If we make it into a trilogy, we’ll have a fucking fist fight in the street.”
“Haters will hate. I receive the amount. I get a hell of a lot of money too. So I won’t feel bad when I cash my check. I don’t care. when I eat ice cream and marshmallows and drink Pina Colada all day. I don’t think about these boxers and shit.”
The unification fight between Usik and Fury was planned for April 2023, but it did not take place. According to the “Gypsy King”, this happened due to the financial demands of the Ukrainian.
Fury will next fight with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou on October 28 in Riyadh. Tyson’s representatives are also negotiating a unification fight with Usik, which could take place in early 2024.
