Russian Abdulla Kurbanov beat Hungarian Daniel Ligeti in the fight for the Olympic license at the World Wrestling Championships taking place in Belgrade.
The match took place as part of a freestyle wrestling tournament in the weight category up to 125 kg. The fight ended with a score of 8:3 in favor of the Russian.
Kurbanov and Ligeti received the right to fight for the Olympic license after losing in the fights for bronze medals.
The World Championships take place in Belgrade (Serbia) from September 16 to 24. The Russians act in a neutral position. The tournament is a qualifier for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
