Russian Ekaterina Polechchuk failed to reach the quarter-finals of the World Wrestling Championship, which takes place in Belgrade.
Poleshchuk, competing in the weight category up to 55 kg, lost to Ukrainian Maria Vinnik with a score of 1:2 in the 1/8 finals.
Earlier on Monday, a representative of the United World of Wrestling (UWW) told that the UWW leadership had recommended Russian and Ukrainian athletes not to shake hands at the World Championships.
The Russians are participating in the Belgrade tournament in neutral status.
