On September 16 and 17, the Adapted Taekwondo Federation Cup took place in Samara.

The event was organized by the Russian Adaptive Taekwondo Federation with the support of the International Adaptive Taekwondo Federation IFAT and the International Inclusive Committee IIC.

The Adaptive Taekwondo Federation Cup was held within the framework of the “Sport is the standard of life” project.

As part of the Fed Cup, the qualifying stage of the Russian national team for the 2023 World Cup took place, which will be held in Minsk in November this year.

Athletes from more than 10 regions of Russia took part in the Federation Cup, more than 150 participants from 6 to 55 years old, all of them performed in the disciplines declared by IFAT in their categories and groups.

Athletes from orphanages and boarding schools, children and adults, also took part.

The opening ceremony took place in the presence of:

— Representative of the Ministry of Socio-Demographic and Family Policy of the Samara Region, Director of the State Budgetary Institution SO RC “Surdocenter” Anna Borisovna Shevereva.

— Head of the Department for the Development of Physical Culture and Mass Sports of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Ministry of Sports of the Samara Region, Dmitry Valerievich Chesalin.

— President of the “Special Olympics” of the Samara region, Elena Alexandrovna Markelova.

And other guests of honor.

In subsequent competitions, the discipline of adaptive GTO will be introduced.
