Shakur believes that the Ukrainian is avoiding a fight with him
Former two-division world champion Shakur Stevenson stated that the former champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko avoids a fight with him, even despite the largest fee.
“Lomachenko was offered the largest sum of his career for a fight with me. Why not fight me? Towards the end of your career, why not take as much money as possible from one of the biggest fights in boxing? Why not?”
Stevenson repeatedly challenged Lomachenko to fight. In early July, the Ukrainian replied that he had “unfinished business with Devin Haney.” Arum later said that Vasily will not enter the ring in 2023.
Stevenson will face Dominican Edwin De Los Santos for the vacant WBC lightweight title. The fight is scheduled for November 16 in Las Vegas.
In his last fight, Vasily lost to Devin Haney in the fight for the title of absolute world lightweight champion.
