Zhilei: I won’t let the judges help Joyce

The rematch will take place on September 23 in London

Interim WBO heavyweight champion Zhang Zhilei stated that he intends to knock out the British Joe Joyce in their fight. The Chinese believes that the judges in the fight will overestimate the points of the British boxer.

“You gave me the opportunity for the first fight, but your team made a mistake by choosing me. And your team is going for a rematch, and this is a big mistake. I’m here to end his career. It’s beautiful and simple. I know his weakness is his eye.”

“In the fight with Hrgovic, if you look at the protocols, you can see that one of the judges pulled the Croatian out after the fight. I’m not going to give the judges any options. I did it in the first fight and I will do the same.”

The Briton’s rematch with Zhilei will officially take place on September 23 in London. Zhang and Joe’s first fight took place in April. Joyce lost by technical knockout and lost his WBO interim title. For him, the defeat from Zhilei was the first in his professional career.

After the fight with Zhilei, Joyce considers Alexander Usik and Tyson Fury his priority opponents. Zhilei, if successful, is also targeting a fight with Fury.
