Artem Damkovsky: “I planned to win the fight in ASA and I can finish it”

Belarusian ASA fighter Artem Damkovsky told that he was ready to end his professional career at any time.

Damkovsky, 40, will meet a Russian on Friday in Minsk Lom-Ali Nalgiev . This lightweight bout will be the co-main event of the ACA 163 show. Damkovsky has 24 wins and 16 losses in mixed martial arts. The Belarusian made his professional debut in MMA in July 2006. In the ASA, Damkovsky fought six fights, in which he won one victory.

— How to continue to perform at the highest level at this age?

— First of all, you have to live in sport, without being distracted by anything. It’s just that many guys do not have the opportunity to play sports professionally every day – some have a job or part-time job. When a person devotes himself entirely to sports, he can keep himself in excellent shape for a long time and continue to perform well.

— How many times have you thought about ending your career? And when do you really think you’ll finish?

— Every fight is like the last. If it’s hard to prepare for combat, it won’t happen. So far I am able to compete in the gym, although it gets more and more difficult every day. But I keep snapping. In addition, the organization offers me to perform. As soon as something happens… Generally, I can end my career at any time. In general, I planned to win the fight in ASA and, in principle, we can finish it, ”Damkovsky told .

The ASA 163 tournament will be broadcast live on the channel, broadcasting will begin on September 22 at 9:30 p.m. Moscow time. In the main fight of the show, Belarusian Ruslan Kolodko will meet Altynbek Mamashov.
