Russian judoka Ramazan Abdulaev told that he does not understand how to rejoice in his victory over his friend and compatriot Gamzat Zairbekov in the final of the weight category up to 60 kg at the Grand Slam stage in Baku.
The Russians compete in the capital of Azerbaijan as neutral individual athletes.
“I’m not particularly happy I beat him.” Today I won, and tomorrow he can win. I had no emotions, we have been working with him since childhood. I don’t even understand how I can be happy,” Abdulaev said.
“We have known each other since childhood, we grew up together, we ate from the same plate. “We trained with the same coach for about eight years. And we were together all the time at training camp, and now we live together in a hotel. The evening will be calm today, as always. Nothing will change, we are calm and friendly guys. “It won’t bother us,” added Zairbekov.
