Double Olympic champion Romain Vlasov told that during the World Wrestling Championships taking place in Belgrade, there was no objective judging in some fights involving Russian wrestlers.
At the World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, Russian athletes, competing in neutral status, won five medals: two gold and bronze and one silver.
— Why do you think the World Cup is not going very well for our team?
— If we go into details, then, in my opinion as an outside fan, there was no objective refereeing in some fights. But it is the lot of the weak to seek justification in arbitration. Many wrestlers gave in and, unfortunately, performed below their abilities. I’m sure we’ll meet the team and discuss everything.
I spoke to the team leader, everyone is worried, everyone is in a bad mood. Everyone thinks about working on their mistakes. We have a very difficult year ahead of us. We must do everything to be ready for combat; we also need to obtain licenses. It’s a difficult path. It’s much easier when you come out on top. Turns out the fight didn’t go well. Sergei Semenov was injured at the last moment, and here is our leader – a two-time Olympic bronze medalist. He was supposed to be the driving force of this World Championship, but he was not there, this also played a bad role for the team, Vlasov told .
The World Championship in Serbia will end on September 24, the Russians will participate in the tournament in neutral status. Watch live broadcasts of the fights on the “Match! »Fighter” and the websites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
