Three years ago, Joe inflicted the first defeat in his professional career on Daniel.
British heavyweight Joe Joyce answered a question about a possible fight against a compatriot Daniel Dubois.
“A new meeting with Dubois? Maybe. It would be an interesting fight. He has a new coach and seems to be getting better. If people want to see it, the opportunity may arise.”
Joyce was defeated again by Chinese Zhang Zhilei in a rematch that took place in London at Wembley. Zhang knocked out his opponent in the third round.
Joe intended, by taking revenge from Zhilei, to regain the WBO belt and enter the title fight with Alexander Usik in 2024. However, this plan is no longer destined to come true. In turn, Dubois lost to the Ukrainian champion in his last fight – it was in Wroclaw on August 26.
Let us remember that Joyce already fought with Dubois in November 2020 – and inflicted the first defeat on Daniel in his professional career.
