Athletistic/Boxing. Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk says Tyson Fury is “scared” of a potential fight with him to determine the undisputed heavyweight champion.

Fury retained the WBC title in April by knocking out Briton Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium in London before suggesting he was retiring from boxing.

Fury, 33, recently said he would only return to the ring for $500m or £500m, and many fans want to see the unbeaten heavyweight face the winner of Usyk’s rematch against Anthony Joshua.

Usyk went undefeated and won the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO belts from Joshua in London last September, beating the Brit by unanimous decision. Now the pair are set to meet face to face, this time in Saudi Arabia on August 20.

The winner of that fight could then face Fury for every major heavyweight title if The Gypsy King doesn’t vacate the WBC belt by then.

“God help it will happen,” Usyk said in an interview with iFL TV on Wednesday. “Tyson says he doesn’t want to box with me, fight because I’m not on his level. It’s because he’s scared of me.”

Asked about Fury’s desire for $500 million for boxing again, Usyk laughed.

“He must be joking,” said the 35-year-old Ukrainian. “500 million dollars, who will give him 500 million dollars? I also want $500 million, so what? “.
