The ceremony honoring the five-time champion of Russia and bronze medalist of the World Championship Edmond Khudoyan took place in Chelyabinsk during a sports festival dedicated to the opening of a new embankment on Lake First, near the center of Almaz boxing.
Evgeny Lyashkov became the national champion for the first time: in the final of the weight category up to 57 kg in Khabarovsk, he defeated Bakhtovar Nazirov. Lyashkov’s gold medal was the first from the Sverdlovsk region at the Russian championships since 2013, when Maxim Gazizov won in the same Khabarovsk in the 75 kg category.
The ceremonies took place in the presence of the President of the International Boxing Association (IBA), Umar Kremlev, the Governor of the Chelyabinsk region, Alexei Teksler, and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Boxing Federation of the Chelyabinsk region.
