Judoka Alice Startseva told that she was forced to miss the Russian Championship for three years, but was happy that she was finally able to compete and win.
The Russian FONBET judo championship began on Wednesday in Kemerovo. Startseva defeated Anna Gushchina in the final of the weight category above 78 kg. Previously, Startseva took part in the Grand Slam stage in Baku and lost in the battle for third place.
— I was finally able to participate in the Russian Championship. I haven’t had this opportunity since 2019, there was always something happening. I finally arrived and took my gold.
— Five hours difference with Baku. Did this bother you?
— I had trouble sleeping all day. Now it’s more or less.
It is easier to move from an international tournament to a national tournament because the level of competition is different. But I like everything so far,” Startseva told .
The Russian Judo Championship will end on October 1. Live broadcasts of the tournament can be viewed on Match Group television channels, as well as on the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites.
