WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitri Bivol came out at 70-80% readiness, and the Russian boxer’s team is waiting for details about the next fight. Bivol coach Gennady Mashyanov spoke to about this.
Bivol, recognized as the best boxer of 2022 according to many versions, has 21 victories in the professional ring (11 by knockout) and not a single defeat. In his last fight last November, Bivol defeated Mexican Gilberto Ramirez by unanimous decision. Before that, in May 2022, the Russian beat Mexican Saul Alvarez by unanimous decision. The Russian boxer will turn 33 in December.
— When will we see Bivol in the ring?
– That’s a good question, it doesn’t depend on us. We don’t have a precise answer. Yes, there are some conversations, but no details. We are ready to release, conditionally, in October, November and December. In terms of preparation, we are 70-80% ready, we are now waiting for details on the date, location and opponent in order to organize our work to achieve the maximum conditions. One of these days we will go to Kyrgyzstan to continue our preparations. And when they fight, we will move to this place. But most likely, Bivol’s next fight will take place in the United States, Mashyanov told .
