The fight between the “Gypsy King” and the former UFC champion will take place on October 28
John Furyfather of the WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Furycommented on the open training Francis Ngannou before the fight with his son.
“I just saw Francis Ngannou, Mike Tyson and the so-called coach who held the paws hold an open training session. I hope he’s joking and pretending. I hope this is a joke, because if not, then he has nothing to catch. There’s no way in hell he’ll stand a chance. He won’t survive the first round. This may be Tyson’s fastest knockout,” said John Fury.
“You know, it must be a bluff. Apparently it’s fun and games. If this is all Ngannou can do, then God help him. Tyson will tear him to pieces. That’s all I can say. This is shameful. If Ngannou shows this in an open training session, then it’s better for him not to arrange it. This is a shame.”
The Fury-Ngannou fight will take place on October 28 in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The WBC granted Tyson special permission to fight the former UFC champion.
The Riyadh championship belt will be at stake in the Fury-Ngannou fight. The British promoter Frank Warren presented a special trophy at a joint press conference.
Fury beat Dereck Chisora by TKO in his last fight in December 2022. Ngannou will hold his first fight under boxing rules. The French-Cameroonian fighter defeated Cyril Gan at UFC 270 in January 2022 in his last MMA fight.
